Rebecca & Ryan’s Garden Party Micro Wedding

Feb 7, 2022 | Weddings

Ryan & Rebecca’s intimate garden wedding in Dundee stands out as a particular highlight of my 2021 wedding season.

I have been friends with Ryan since university. We were teammates on Edinburgh Napier’s badminton team and we shared some great memories. Rebecca and Ryan are childhood sweethearts and I was simply overjoyed to receive their wedding photography enquiry. I knew this day would be particularly personal & special on many levels.

Opting for an intimate affair with their closest family and friends the couple chose to celebrate their wedding at Rebecca’s parent’s house near Dundee. The private garden overlooking the banks of the river Tay was the perfect spot for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with personal vows.

Rebecca kept everything super low key & personal. Her dad picked her flowers from the garden in the morning and her mum acted as head chef and wedding planner. Ryan’s sister made all the table decorations whilst Rebecca’s aunty made all the bunting by hand.

The day flowed with unscripted ease into a beautiful summer evening. Rebecca’s dad manned the BBQ and their guests enjoyed a feast in the gazebo as the sun set.

As I left with an armful of homemade treats I could still hear the laughter spilling out from the garden over the rooftops. I felt well and truly spoiled by their lovely family who couldn’t have been more welcoming & this day still makes me smile.
