Alex & Peter – Ros Castle & Hepburn Woods

Jun 14, 2020 | Couples

This was one of those shoots where all the elements come together to create something very special indeed. Not hard to imagine when you throw into the mix a photogenic dog, empty Northumbrian moorland, atmospheric fog and a laid back couple with the most incredible style.

Alex dropped me a message after seeing his sister’s Rosie’s pre wedding engagement shoot ( Which you can see here ) I had recently taken at Alnmouth beach. He explained the whole family were spending the lockdown together at their parent’s house in Alnmouth although they usually all live apart. I was so touched when Alex explained he and Peter were already married but they just wanted some recent photographs of the two of them together taken in the heart of Northumberland where Alex is original from.

Alex and Peter were just a joy to photograph and were more than happy to climb up the steep Ross Hill with me, precariously sit in the middle of road and trek through thigh deep heather but it was all worth it. The best part is when it came to Rosie’s wedding a few months later in Ireland we were able to meet again and spend another fabulous day together.
